GPGD Network Partners with Plan International Ghana to Reintegrate 3,000 Out-of-School Children

The Graduates and Professionals of Ga-Dangme (GPGD) Network is proud to partner with Plan International Ghana under the Ghana Education Outcomes Project (GEOP – Lot 7A). This transformative collaboration is designed to reintegrate 3,000 out-of-school children (OOSC) and train 120 community-based facilitators across ten districts in the Greater Accra Region.

Empowering Communities Through Education

This project is a shared commitment to inclusive, accessible, and sustainable education. Together with Plan International Ghana, GPGD is:

  • Identifying and validating out-of-school children aged 8–16
  • Training local facilitators to deliver accelerated learning programs
  • Establishing safe, community-based learning centres
  • Reintegrating learners into the formal education system

Collaboration with Local Leadership

To ensure deep-rooted community ownership and success, the project actively engages:

  • Chiefs and Queen Mothers
  • Honourable Assembly Members
  • Traditional and community leaders
  • Local government and education stakeholders

These respected leaders are instrumental in mobilizing support, building trust, and ensuring the cultural relevance and sustainability of the initiative.

Our Shared Goals

  • Reintegrate 3,000 out-of-school children
  • Train 120 facilitators from the communities
  • Provide inclusive learning in local languages (Ga, Twi, Ewe)
  • Improve literacy and numeracy outcomes
  • Build community-led, sustainable education solutions.

The identification and validation process is ongoing, with a deadline of 22nd September 2025. Eligible children must have been out of school for at least one year and able to speak Ga, Twi, or Ewe.
